Meg Gomez-Campbell (they/them) is a multi-disciplinary director, actor, theatermaker, drag king, and filmmaker. They are a proud native New Yorker, growing up between Queens and Putnam NY, now based in Brooklyn.
Coming from Cuban-American roots, they have a strong appreciation for cultural significance in the stories they bring to the stage and screen. As a trans/queer artist, they are curious about theatre that examines the intersection of gender expression, complex connections, queer authenticity, and slightly skewed realities of contemporary life.
Acting credits include a musically adapted Romeo and Juliet on tour (dir. Emma Rosa Went), and 2022 Summer season Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play (dir. Davis McCallum) and Romeo and Juliet (dir. G.T. Upchurch) (Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival), PS306 (2023 New York Theatre Festival), and Go. Please. Go. (dir. Joan Sergay). Meg is a past Roger Rees, Metropolitan, and NYAA recipient for their work on stage.
Directing credits include the premiere of WOLF! by Ant LoGrande in collaboration with the playwright’s residencies (The Tank, upcoming 2026), debut short Me. You. Doom in which they will also co-star (2026 release), and Rocky Horror (WCT).
Next up, they will be acting in Creature/Comfort, a new trans drag monster musical created by drag duo Mann & Materials and directed by Benita de Wit - coming to Life World as part of the 2026 Exponential Festival this January 22nd-24th!
You can find Meg performing as drag king Sailor Jerry, working with Dykes & Dolls as a zine distributor, exploring eateries, catching a rarely-screened film, or hanging out with their cat, Tybalt.
Meg received their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance and Film & Media Studies from Wagner College.
